Heart of Hope // Lucy Score
Heart of Hope // Lucy Score
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (EASY 5 stars for me because I laughed, I cried, and I blushed more than once).
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (torn between 3-4 peppers, but there was definitely some 🔥 there).
•This one caught me off guard! I was expecting a short but cute little love story, and was honestly just hoping for this to be a palate cleanser from the last (awful) book that I read. I should have known better than to underestimate Lucy Score because this little novel went so much deeper than that.
•It’s a very quick read (only 222 pages) but it is definitely not lacking in emotion, tension, or intimacy. Heart of Hope is a small town romance that has our hero & heroin navigating a traumatic life experience simultaneously. The small town of Hope Falls is precious and full of amazing people - the perfect backdrop for this fateful story to transpire. Nobody captures the essence of small towns quite like Lucy Score. 👌🏻
•Trigger warning: this story begins with a tragedy and deals with organ donation. Honestly, if I was unsure about organ donation before this, I’m certainly certain of where I stand now. This book got me in my feels, and I really really loved how she wrapped everything up so beautifully. Definitely a feel-good story! Thank you Aunt Colleen for advising Lucy to start writing novels 😉 —> see next slide for book dedication. Everyone should read this! 🫶🏻 Order it Here.
