This book is NOT for you if you have suffered any sort of sexual trauma or physical abuse. It’s manipulative, vindictive, and disturbingly gruesome. We get an even more terrifying glimpse into the dark web, human trafficking, grooming, and very very gruesome sexual violence & abuse. This is the second book of this duet and it’s significantly darker than the first. You may be asking yourself WHYTF would I want to read this, Shannon??? Well, of the two books, I enjoyed this one even more because I desperately needed answers and closure after the cruel cliff hanger we were left on with the first. Also, I think this series gave me a very unfiltered look at human trafficking, and it has really opened my eyes to what is very likely happening right under our noses. I *know* it’s fiction, but I believe that so many of these details are truly what occurs in the skin trade. I feel sick and disturbed, and I don’t trust ANYONE anymore, but I also feel empowered. Addie and Zade’s love story develops further in this book, and I was 10000% on board for that.
